There is no direct train service to Dharamshala town although the nearest railway stations near to Dharamshala is Kangra (Narrow-gauge), Patahnkot (Broad-gauge) & Amb Andaura (Broad-gauge)

Distance to Dharamshala town by road from Railways stations of :

• Delhi to Pathankot (by train)
  480 KM(8 hr approx.)

Pathankot to Dharamshala (by road) 
85.2 KM time (3 hr approx.)
Total Distance = 565 KM Total Time Travel =

It is the most easiest train way. As trains & buses between these stations are frequent.

• Delhi to Pathankot (by train)
  480 KM (8 hr approx.)

Pathankot to Kangra (by train)
85.9 KM (3 hr 10 min approx.)

Kangra to Dharamshala  (by road)
20.2 KM (45 min approx.)

Take this route if you want to enjoy the ride of valley train & Dhauladhar landscape. Remember you have to reach Pathankot by morning then you can take train till Kangra. No night trains between these two stations. 

• New Delhi to Amb Andaura (by train)
  385 KM (5 hr 25 mins)
  *by Vande  Bharat Train
  (7 hr 40 mins)
  *by  Himachal Express
  Amb Andaura to Dharamshala (by road)
  88.9 KM (approx. 3 hrs)

• This is the fastest route to reach Dharamshala by train. But you might have difficulty getting a cab or might have to pay extra fare during the night at Amb Andaura station.
