Kinnaur is home of Kinnaur Kailash at mountain is a natural rock Shivling (Shiva lingam). The district was opened to outsiders in 1989. Kinnaur also produces one of the finest apples in entire India. There are so many valleys situated in this district & all of them have their own natural beauty & tradition. Culturally rich in this district of Kinnaur you'll still find many local festivals & celebrations which are still preserved beautifully by its people. There are local deities in every valley & villages of Kinnaur. Kinnauri Shawl is one of the famous handicrafts of the area & Kinnauri Nati is traditional dance of the entire valley in which people from all age & gender participate & dance. The entire valley receives heavy snowfalls during winters & often get cut-off from the world due to road-blocks as roads are the lifeline for the valley.
